Lauren and Will’s wedding celebration across two iconic New Orleans venues – the Pharmacy Museum and Race + Religious – was a day filled with romance, exceptional cuisine, and unforgettable moments. Let’s take a closer look at the highlights of their special day.
The celebration began at Race + Religious, where guests were welcomed with premium bar service and an impressive array of passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour. The evening kicked off with elegant bruschetta topped with whipped ricotta, confit cherry tomatoes, and arugula pesto, alongside Creole eggplant stuffed mini peppers with roasted poblano aioli. Guests also enjoyed muffuletta canapés featuring the classic New Orleans combination of olive salad, salami, mortadella, and provolone, while seared hangar steak with roasted exotic mushroom and horseradish cream, and bacon-wrapped shrimp with pepper jelly glaze rounded out the hors d’oeuvres selection.
While guests mingled during the cocktail hour, Lauren and Will enjoyed a quiet sweetheart meal upstairs with selections from the artisanal cheese board and traditional charcuterie board, complete with seasonal fruit jam, fresh fruit, toasted pecans, and artisanal breads. Their entrance was marked by applause and cheers as they joined their guests for the main celebration.
When the stations opened, guests discovered a remarkable spread. The menu featured a chef-attended carving station with both blackened pork loin glazed with Steen’s creole mustard and seared strip loin with roasted exotic mushroom jus. The blackened cauliflower pasta station offered cavatappi with two sauce options – charred tomato cream and pesto – while the chicken and dumplings with exotic mushrooms and herbed dumplings brought comfort food to the celebration. Grilled farmers market vegetables and smoked gouda mashed potatoes perfectly complemented the main dishes.
Lauren and Will included personal touches throughout their event that reflected their love for New Orleans cuisine and culture. The evening’s grand finale was the beignet bar, featuring both traditional and espresso beignets served with powdered and cocoa sugar, café brûlot sauce, pecan praline sauce, and seasonal fruit sauce – a true New Orleans experience.
As the night continued, guests enjoyed late-night snacks featuring grilled gruyere cheese paired with tomato bisque shooters, keeping the energy high as the celebration continued into the evening.
And true to New Orleans tradition, no celebration would be complete without a second line! Following their ceremony at the Pharmacy Museum, Lauren and Will led their guests in a joyful parade through the French Quarter streets, spreading their wedding happiness throughout the neighborhood before arriving at Race + Religious for the reception.
We extend our congratulations to Lauren and Will on their union! May their love continue to grow stronger with each passing day, and may they cherish the memories made on their special day for years to come!
